Shutting Things Down to Open Things Up

Organizing Non-Violent Direct Action for Climate Justice Sunday November 10th from 10am to 4pm

As the wildfires burn in California, we have to deal with the fact that the climate crisis isn’t a problem for the future — it’s already begun. And as the corporations and politicians that created the climate crisis continue to delay and deny, over 200,000+ people have had to evacuate their homes. But as this crisis grows, so does our movement.

The #ShutDownDC actions of Sept. 23 and 27 were a huge success, and we will continue to bring climate disruption to the nation’s capital over and over again, until decision-makers feel the urgency that those affected by the wildfires are feeling right now.

Want to find out how to get involved? Join us on Sunday, November 10 from 10am to 4pm for a workshop on organizing non-violent direct action for climate justice. Build up your skills and find out how YOU can get involved in the growing movement for climate justice!

We’ll cover:

  • What is direct action?!

  • Strategic uses of direct action

  • Working together in an action

  • Navigating tough situations

  • Know your rights

  • Staying healthy and safe in the streets

  • How YOU can get involved in what’s next!

This workshop is free and open to anyone committed to the fight for climate justice. Fill out the RSVP form and we’ll let you know the location and other important details about the training.

Because we know that there will be a LOT of demand for direct action trainings over the next few months, we’ll be hosting a train-the-trainer for folks interested in co-facilitating trainings in mid-November. You MUST attend this workshop (no matter how much action experience you have) if you want to join us for the train-the-trainer session.
