One-on-one organizing conversations are key to grassroots organizing and movement building. This 90-minute training will include a brief introduction to grassroots organizing and will emphasize role-playing and interactive exercises to build comfort and confidence in having one-on-one organizing conversations.

Meet the Trainers Debbie Schneider has spent 40 years organizing workers, mostly with the Service Employees International Union. Most recently, she led that union's creation of Leaders in Action for Justice, leadership development and equity/inclusion program for their member, staff and elected leaders.
Alicia Ybarra is an adult educator with over 20 years of experience both in the labor and environmental movements, training staff and volunteers and moving them into action on local and national campaigns. Originally from Los Angeles, Alicia has lived and worked in Guatemala and Belize, is bilingual English/Spanish. Alicia has a BA from Stanford University and currently lives in Baltimore.
